Sonny Koufax (Adam Sandler) breaks up with his girlfriend Layla after five years; she reproaches him that he cannot take responsibility as a grown-up, and dumps him for an older man. In a last desperate attempt to prove her wrong, Sonny takes care of a five year old boy, Julian, who is the son of a colleague who is on a business trip.
